The Women’s Leadership Center was built on a simple idea: bring women together across fields, industries, and experiences, and create the conditions for new thinking to emerge.

That might mean an executive team working through what comes next. Women across an industry taking on a challenge no single company or organization can solve alone. Or leaders from business, policy, academia, the arts, and the nonprofit sector bringing very different perspectives to a question they share.

The questions will be different. What they have in common is the potential to benefit from women thinking together and putting their collective experience to work.

The right people, brought together with purpose

We work with organizations and leaders to build each convening around what they want to examine, understand, or advance.

Some come to the WLC with their people, their agenda, and a clear vision for their time together. Others come with a question, an idea, or an outcome they want to pursue and work with us to shape the experience — from individual sessions to the full program.

The WLC also creates its own signature convenings, bringing women together around ideas and issues we believe are worth exploring and creating opportunities for people and perspectives to meet in new ways.

No two convenings should look the same.

A one-day focused conversation among 20 people asks something different of a space than a four-day gathering of 80. A board of directors working through its future needs something different from women across an industry confronting a shared challenge.

So we don’t begin with a prescribed format. We begin with what the gathering is meant to accomplish and build from there.

The Center was designed with that flexibility in mind — places to gather around a table and places to continue the conversation over a meal, on a walk, or outside by the lake. Enough structure to make the time meaningful, and enough space for the conversation to become something no one could have scripted in advance.
