The warm months of summer and fall saw us pouring footings and foundations for all three main buildings — the Lodge, Council, and Cabin — and installing utilities. Now, interior walls are going up so that we can put in HVAC ductwork and wiring for electrical service. By the time snow flies we plan to be fully enclosed, which will permit our teams can keep working through the winter. Meanwhile, many of the trees we had to take down to prep the site are being turned into lumber. We are repurposing that wood to create cabinets, veneers, and flooring we’ll use inside the Center. Our plans preserve 84% green space, and we are restoring the land as a pristine, southeast Wisconsin woodland. We continue to get visits from eagles, hawks, woodpeckers and foxes who stop by occasionally to check on our progress. Weather permitting, we remain on schedule to complete construction late in 2025.
