It’s happening: Most of the heavy work of constructing buildings, installing infrastructure, and laying down hardscaping (the paths, walkways, and driveways) has been done. A year ago, our teams had to battle winter’s cold as they worked inside structures without walls or complete roofs. Today, the crews get to enjoy warm, dry spaces as they install final finishes in our three building —all the flooring, drywall, plaster, cabinets, lighting, signage and more specified by the interior design team. We’re on schedule to wrap up construction on the Lodge and Council buildings in late February and on the Cabin (which was always on a later timetable) in May.
The last step before moving in is a thorough inspection by the Village and the fire department to ensure all systems are operating per the building codes and that the life safety requirements are satisfied. Then, as soon as they put the certificate of occupancy in our hands, we’re ready to roll in the furniture, artwork, and home goods we’ll need to host gatherings. Landscaping and planting will finish up in June as soon as the weather warms.
It’s been quite a journey to get to this point, but the results keep exceeding our expectations. We think you’ll be dazzled when you see our new home. (We are.)
